Donna Schwartz is a licensed clinical social worker in the District of Columbia and the state of Virginia.  Ms. Schwartz is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.  She has extensive experience treating individuals, couples and families.  Donna obtained her Master's of Social Work at Catholic University of America in 1990.  She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, women's issues, postpartum depression and relationship difficulties.  She practices in a psychodynamic framework which emphasizes the root causes of symptoms or unwanted behaviors, and their associated feelings and thoughts.  Also, she incorporates elements of cognitive behavioral therapy in her approach. She works in collaboration with other professionals when needed; such as psychiatrists, internists and nutritionists.
